General Rules
1. A player is not to have more than two (2) accounts. If you have a joint account, it still counts as one for all players accessing the account.
2. There is a variety of age differences here at Houndism. We ask that you kindly use appropriate language.
3. We have a zero tolerance for art theft. Those who steal will be banned.
4. Houndism is a great game, and we want it to be fun for everyone. Help keep it that way.
5. Houndism is not responsible for its players. Your actions are your own.
6. Houndism is NOT a dating site, so don't waste your time.
7. Houndism does NOT allow real life items to be sold.
8. Hundism does NOT allow any "Pimp my profile," "My Space," or any of those types of layouts.

The Boards
1. Absolutely no talking about homosexuality, politics, and religion.
2. Swearing is not tolerated around here. Keep your swearing to a minimum. If you have a question as to how far you can go, please message an administrator or moderator.
3. Chatspeak is not allowed. An occasional "brb" or "lol" is fine, but for the most part, speak properly, please.
4. Post on the correct boards. Need we say more about this? You've got a brain.. use it.
5. Chain letters, or anything that is received in e-mails that isn't important, is not allowed on the boards, or through messages.
6. You are NOT allowed to message advertisements of any sort. That's why we have an Advertising Board! Use it!

The Chatroom
1. Again, no chatting about homosexuality, politics, and religion.
2. And no swearing. Ask an administrator or moderator about the limits.
3. And no chatspeak.
4. Chatting about other games is fine, as long as you don't keep droning on and on. Posting URL's to other sites is permitted, too.
5. Advertising in the Chatroom is prohibited. That's why we have an Advertising Board. This also includes asking people to join a sim game.
6. No flooding. This means posting three or more times in a row without someone else posting in between.

The Players
1. Treat other players as you would like to be treated.
2. Harassing, slandering, or putting down other players will get you in trouble.
3. You may own two (2) accounts. If you are caught with more than two (2) accounts, the extra account will be banned, and you will receive no refund (if it's upgraded).
4. Keep your tags size to 150 X 150 pixels. Don't know how big that is? Ask an administrator or moderator.
5. Total image size in signature should not exceed 375 X 125 pixels.
6. All usernames or tags that are not closed off properly, or if they change the function of your username, will be reset without question. We are not responsible for lost HTML.
7. You are permitted to use readable colors at all times. If it is not readable, it will be changed.
8. Your player page should be kept descent. No nudity or sexually explicit picture. If you are caught, your page will be reset, and other means of punishment will be enforced. This is a G/PG site.. let's keep it that way.
9. Music is not permitted on players' kennel pages as well as YouTube videos. Chat boxes are okay, but if there is any kind of swearing, they'll be reset.
10. Dogs images for the pages should not exceed 650px wide. Don't know what that is? Ask staff.

The Staff
1. Respect the staff, please. This includes artists, too. Don't be slamming their work. They worked hard, and they deserve some recognition, too.
2. All staff, excluding artists, have the right to punish players as they see fit without giving a warning.
3. Harassing, slandering, or putting down the staff, including artists, will not be tolerated. Even if you do it behind their backs.
4. Mini-modding is not allowed. If you have a problem that is serious enough for an administrator or moderator to handle, please let them know. That's what they're here for. Do not handle it yourself.
5. Do not ask to become an administrator, moderator, or artist. We will ask you, or we'll put up an application form for you to fill out.

Miscellaneous

1. All images, writing, etc. submitted to Houndism becomes the property of Houndism and Megan Borys to be used however they dub appropriate.
2. If you use someone else's money, including your parents, to upgrade your account, without their permission, you will receive no refund, unless we receive proof that the actual owner wants their money back. Your account will also be permanently frozen.
3. Bug abuse is not tolerated. If you find a bug, report it, and you will be rewarded. Those who take advantage of a bug will be punished on how severe the bug is.
5. The news is for news that relates to the game ONLY. This is not to chat, and comments are there only if something is left out.

Hotlinking

According to the site Altlab, hotlinking is described as "direct linking to a web site's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <*img*> tag to display a PICTURE/JPEG/GIF/PNG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, web blog, forum message post, etc." In addition, hotlinking is illegal, and can get you or an entire site in trouble.

Uploading your pictures to a free hosting site (such as Photobucket) takes little to no extra effort, and ensures that you will not get in trouble for hotlinking. Once again, stealing bandwidth or copyrighted pictures can get you AND Houndism in potential trouble legally, and it's not worth the risk.

With that said, those found hotlinking pictures will get a warning and a fine. The second offense results in a greater fine and a one day ban, and each successive offense results in higher fines and longer bans.

The above rules are to be abided by at all times. Changes/additions will be in bold for two weeks. Ignorance is no excuse for not obeying! It is your responsibility to read them, so make sure you check back every now and then.

Breaking the rules will result in a fine, temporary ban, permanent ban, and/or privileges revoked.
